Whirlwind XN358

So, from the last post, a Whirlwind. This one has been chosen for one reason - ....
Its not your typical mk7. I am currectly holding a FAA group build on my Instagram page, and i am also building a phantom, but that can wait. So This MK7 is very intrguing. By googling this heli XN358 (serial WA304) i found nothing about it in this form but rather what it was afterwads. I then asked NavyWings, and by using their helpi have fond this. Built in 1960, the heli was made after the troubles that started in '57 with engine problems for all mk7s, underpowered. Seen in portland habour, this one had had itstail rotor drive shaft cover removed, venteral fin removedand various avioncis removed so it could increase its lifting properties. At this time, XN358 was part of 771 Naval air Squadron, in portland. There is no offical documents of the trail taking place.

Later in its life, she looked like this:

Not much can be said now. From this picture, she returned to normal HAS.7 specification, she moved around squadron including 814 and 825.
At the end of her life she was taken to the Air engineering school and then later taken to the RNAS Yevilton fire training dump.

So what now, well this:
In comemeration of XN358 i am using the Airfix 1/72 Westland Whirlwind HAS.22 kit to make XN358 in her earier form. Here you can see a bit of a mess. instead of using plastic card i have used a plastic packaging container, a thin one that held pre packaged cakes or something. I used foil on the walls and floor, i rubbed the foil on my chromebook lid to create a sound proofing look and the handle of my scalple to create a diamond plate look for the floor. The whirlwind is quite a low documented arcraft (interior wise) so this is the best i can do.
