Whirlwind XN358

So, from the last post, a Whirlwind. This one has been chosen for one reason - .... Its not your typical mk7. I am currectly holding a FAA group build on my Instagram page, and i am also building a phantom, but that can wait. So This MK7 is very intrguing. By googling this heli XN358 (serial WA304) i found nothing about it in this form but rather what it was afterwads. I then asked NavyWings, and by using their helpi have fond this. Built in 1960, the heli was made after the troubles that started in '57 with engine problems for all mk7s, underpowered. Seen in portland habour, this one had had itstail rotor drive shaft cover removed, venteral fin removedand various avioncis removed so it could increase its lifting properties. The Beginings

I have been interested in aviation for many years, it started off at the start of Secodary school when i was 11. I am now 16. Its not long, no, but the knowledge i have gained is irreversable. For the first few years I only collected books, filled with facts about aviation. In 2018 i picked up my first model kit, an airfix 1/72 Hawker Hurricane mk1. My main interest at this time was aircraft from WWII. This started to shift in August 2019. Now to go back even further - I live in a town called Yeovil in Somerset in England. Westland Helicopters (now leonardo) is in this town, and RNAS Yeovilton (HMS Heron) is just 5 miles away. You could say that my life has been (literally) filled with aviation.
